OUR CALLING

- to respond to God’s life in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission

We will increase awareness of God’s presence and celebrate God’s love

Aspirations

· Encouraging occasional use of small discussion groups during worship

· Greater individual participation in worship

· Developing use of worship leaders

· Allowing time and quietness for personal prayer in services

We will help people to grow and learn as Christians, through mutual support and care

Aspirations

· Learning more about Groups using our facilities

· Working with Churches together in Portishead

· Caring for those who leave or drift away – including young people

· Identifying, welcoming and supporting newcomers

We will be good neighbours to people in need and challenge injustice

Aspirations

· Encourage support for Christian work widely (including arranging events directed to specific needs)

· Raise awareness of Methodist mission work, ensure mission secretary roles are filled

· Make our buildings will be available for priority projects and community needs

We will make more followers of Jesus Christ

· Promoting and developing evangelism

· Ensuring what we do is relevant and understood

- Developing further the use words, images, drama, sounds and music

- Using clear and accessible language in our Worship Building

· Being unpeeled as a Church, relaxed and open in God’s presence

· Encouraging development of and growing confidence in regular bible study
