PORTISHEAD METHODIST CHURCH

Portishead Methodist Church is a  lively Church of just over 100 members situated in the fast expanding town of Portishead, about 10 miles west of Bristol, in North Somerset. Portishead is has one of the largest marina developments in the UK and the site of one of two centres of population growth in North Somerset. The Church is the closest to all this. We are living in exciting times!

Whether you live locally or are just visiting, we very much look forward to meeting you if you are able to join us for Sunday Worship or any of our other activities.

Our main Sunday worship is at 10.30am. Our Junior Church, for all children and young people, meets in parallel. In addition, there are regular services on many Sundays at other times. Details of all our services and of Junior Church can be found on the services page. Many other activities take place at the Church during the week, brief details can be found on our activities page. Significant numbers of younger families attend the service on Sunday, and activities mid-week.

We are moving forward and greatly expanding our work. With this in mind and in conjunction with our sister Churches in Redcliffe Bay and Pill a Family Worker was appointed in June 2009 to help further resource this.

In recent years we have redecorated and altered the inside of the Church and we are very excited by the prospects ahead.

We are equipped with an induction loop and the buildings are wheelchair accessible.

Where we are

The church is prominently situated in Portishead High Street almost opposite the junction with the A369 (Wyndham Way). There is a car park behind the Church off Ferndale Road and a much larger car park situated by the Co-op in Wyndham Way.

Click here for a location map: we are in the circle marked on the High Street.

Buses (First 357, 358 and 359 serve much of the town from Bristol and X25 from Clevedon and Cribs Causeway) stop close to the Church at Coombe Road or the White Lion.

Trinity Anglican Methodist Primary School opened this academic year. It is located about just under a mile from our Church in the Port Marine new development. It has opened up a major opportunity to increase our work in the community. Further details about the school can be found on the school web-site.

Our Sister Church at Redcliffe Bay

Portishead has two Methodist Churches within its boundary. The second is at Redcliffe Bay in Queens Road Click here for a location map. There is a car park at the front of the Church. Buses 357/358/359 and X25 stop at the end of the road. Redcliffe Bay has about 50 members in a well established part of the town. It has a Sunday morning service at 10 30am.
